چکیده
Vascular anomalies, either aneurysmal or arteriovenous, figure predominantly as the causative lesions in spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage. Such haemorrhage as the presenting feature of intracranial tumour, although much rarer, is sufficiently well recognized not to cause diagnostic difficulties; _ ,J ablost invariably some evidence of a space-occupying lesion, if not of a pathological circulation, is seen on subsequent angiography, especialy in cases of supratentorial neoplasm. Ernsting (1955) reported a patient with recurrent subarachnoid bleeding, in whom, after carotid angiograms a year previously had been regarded as normal, a choroid plexus papila loma was demonstrated when the investigation was repeated. The lesion was confirmed by air studies and successfully removed. Ernsting pointed out the possibility of a small papilloma bleeding into the ventricle and yet not being apparent on arteriograms. The purpose of this paper is to present three cases with recurrent haemorrhage from paraventricular FIG. 1 Case: Normaleantero-posteriorarter lesions not revealed on angiography. compression ofthe kft carotid artery in the ned

Delayed Positivization of Cerebral Angiography in Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome (RCVS) Presenting with Recurrent Subarachnoid Haemorrhage
Benign angiopathy of the central nervous system is a clinical syndrome with evidence of reversible cerebral vasoconstriction (RCVS). Haemorrhagic stroke, either subarachnoid or intracerebral is an unusual presentation of RCVS. We describe a case of RCVS presenting with a subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH), with rebleeding and onset of hydrocephalus during the first week, and, notably, delayed evide...
متن کاملAn unusual cause of subarachnoid haemorrhage in a patient with newly diagnosed neurofibromatosis: a case report
INTRODUCTION In this report we discuss an unusual cause of subarachnoid haemorrhage in association with neurofibromatosis. CASE PRESENTATION A previously fit 55-year-old man developed sudden onset headache with loss of consciousness. He was comatose on admission with no focal neurological signs. Numerous neurofibromas and café-au-lait patches were noted, indicating neurofibromatosis type 1 wh...

A 38 year old woman presented with a short history of headache, double vision, and rotatory vertigo. Medical history was negative except years of nicotine misuse. Cranial MRI disclosed a large infarction in the area supplied by the left posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA). Occlusion of the left vertebral artery was confirmed by MR angiography. Five months later, she was again admitted w...

A61 year old man was admitted to our department due to recurrent episodes of subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH). He had been previously healthy except for a 10 year history of hypertension. One year ago, SAH had occurred but four vessel cerebral angiography showed no cause of SAH. One month ago, an intradural extramedullary (IDEM) lesion was detected due to right posterior auricular pain (fig 1A). ...
متن کاملPosterior communicating artery aneurysm presenting with haemorrhage into an arachnoid cyst.
A patient is reported on with a subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) from an aneurysm of the posterior communicating artery, who initially presented with a sentinel bleed into an arachnoid cyst and normal magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) of the intracranial vasculature which led to a delay in diagnosis. Although this is a very rare presentation of a relatively common condition, it is important to...
